What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are facial injections that add volume and fullness to different areas of the face without surgery. Treatment is administered through injection by Dr. Hooker. There are many types of Dermal fillers that can be used for different results, including Juvederm, Voluma, Volbella, Restylane Lyft, and Restylane Silk.

How do they work?

The collagen and elastin fibers under the skin on our face wear out as we age, causing wrinkles and creases to appear. Dermal fillers are a great way to restore a youthful look to the face. Different formulations are used to lift cheeks, smooth parentheses lines, smooth vertical lip lines or even plump the lips. The results are subtle and long lasting.

When will I see results?

After your injection, you will see immediate results in the treatment area.

Will it hurt?

Most Dermal Fillers contain pain-reducing lidocaine to help manage pain or discomfort during the injection. You may also request a topical numbing cream to help further minimize discomfort.

What should I expect during my first treatment?

Prior to any Dermal Filler treatment, you will receive a brief consultation with Dr. Hooker to assess your treatment goals, and to answer your questions. The entire visit will take approximately 60 minutes. After the treatment, some temporary injection-related reactions may occur, including bruising, redness, swelling, pain, firmness, and bumps. These are usually mild to moderate in nature and clear up on their own in 7-10 days, or less.
